Book/movie comparison
The book and the movie have many similarities. They both show the same way of how Dally acts. He acts mean, gangster, tough. Johnny acts like the puppy just like in the book. He is scared like when he told Dally to stop he went pale and really white. The movie also shows some thing that he did in the book was that Johnny stabbing the Soc. He went and stabbed him to save Ponyboy. In conclusion, the book and the movie have many similarities.
The book and the movie have many differences. One difference is that the book said that they wear long hair in the beginning but in the movie I saw short hair for both sides. Another difference is that the book talked about Ponyboy getting beat in the beginning after the movie he watched. The movie went straight to when to Dally talking to Cherry Valance while watching the movie. The final difference is that I saw Darry and qhe did not that strong like until the book they said it liked he was really strong.
I think the movie adaptation stayed true to the novel because it had showed the same surrounding as if they are a bad neighborhood like ElmWood. They also show how their cars back then and the environment. The adaptation changed from the book to the novel because Johnny was skinny in the book but in the movie he was really chubby. Another adaptation that was different was that Darry had slapped Ponyboy in the face in the book but in the movie Darry pushed Ponyboy. I think the director and actor did do a good job delivering the novel’s messages because it had told in a way to be able to understand.
